Warfare in the Stars, Not Star Wars
Sunday, February 24th, 2008I don’t think Bill Maher is wicked but I could be wrong. Certainly I have no reason to believe he’s wicked but he makes it perfectly clear how godless he is so it makes the question of his wickedness moot. It’s like being an accomplice in a murder. You don’t have to physically take part in the killing to be convicted.
Here’s what Paul had to say to the Romans. “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
Bill Maher heaps a lot of abuse at the institutions of religion. While I don’t care for his tactics I don’t disagree with many of his objections. When was the last time you went to church and the pastor said “today we’re going to marvel at God’s monument in stone that he placed at the center and the border of Egypt as revealed by Isaiah”? Why don’t they ever talk about the Babylonian roots of so many of their traditions? And why don’t they ever explain what Paul was talking about when he said that men are without excuse because of what had been made by God, clearly seen, revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth?
Because, as revealed in the heavens, Satan is at work twisting the truth so that the average person is blind to God’s glory which is found in the 12 major constellations and the 36 associated minor constellations or decans. But just mention the constellations (i.e. Virgo, Scorpio, etc.) and you immediately think of astrology, a caricature of the original meaning.
Here’s what Gene Scott, perhaps the most learned biblical scholar of the 20th century, had to say on the subject: “If it’s important to God and to God’s people, Satan moves in. And, he does his homework so much better than most of God’s creatures that he wins every time. He turns the church world off on what God intended to be heard.”
Speaking of the constellations and the images which have been associated with them since antiquity, Scott continues, “…and most mythology takes those figures and does exactly what Paul says. They change the glory of God into an image that communicates some earlier meaning and then they begin to worship the creature instead of the creator. And change the truth of God that was always there in the heavens, declaring the glory of God; they change it into a lie. And because of the lie man has run from the truth.” It’s a travesty that the church world is blind to the wonders God placed in plain view of all. We may not all be able to travel to Egypt to see the wonders God placed there but we can all look at the stars, unless we’re blind.
While on the subject of Egypt there is the mysterious matter of the Sphinx. Water erosion patterns and geological sediments make it clear that both the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid were built pre-flood. We know the architect of the Great Pyramid had precise knowledge of the heavens. The Sphinx consists of a woman’s head on a lion’s body. In the zodiac the virgin (Virgo) is adjacent to the lion (Leo). The Sphinx tells us where to start the story (the woman) and where to finish (the lion). In other words, start with Virgo end with Leo. Or read the Bible, same story.
