Bill Maher, Meet the Devil
December 6th, 2008One of the main arguments of atheists in general and Bill Maher specifically is their claim in the absence of the supernatural. A sign recently placed in the Olympia, WA State Capital alongside a nativity scene reads “At this season of the winter solstice may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”
Most of us live our natural lives in the natural world and never experience anything remotely supernatural. But that is not evidence of the absence of the supernatural. There is, however, an enormous amount of documentation that normal people sometimes do come in contact with the supernatural, often with disastrous or disturbing consequences.
One man, Ed Warren, and his wife Lorraine have spent more than 30 years investigating supernatural phenomena. In the biography, “The Demonologist” by Gerald Daniel Brittle, Ed and Lorraine Warren describe some of their experiences with both human and non-human spirits. I highly recommend this book to anybody with the slightest interest in the subject. It should be required reading for all card carrying atheists and blasphemic talk show hosts.
Ed, who died in August, 2006 was often called in by the Catholic Church (and other religions) as an investigator.
“I do think scientifically, we do have scientists working with us, and I think theologically and scientifically. There are organizations of atheists, so-called skeptical investigators that say, “There is no proof scientifically that God exists, that spirits exist that miracles occur.”
That’s ridiculous, there’s all kinds of proof. In the Occult Museum we have hundreds of items, we have thousands of cases between here and the other buildings out there that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the supernatural exists and the preternatural exists.
We have filmed the white Lady of Easton. We have filmed poltergeists, attacks on people, ghosts and we have taken many pictures of ghosts.
We work with any clergy that their religion teaches love of God and love of your fellow man. We are not stupid enough to think that because we are Catholics that we are the only religion saved – that’s what the problem is with Ireland today – and a lot of other places. We work with all people of all faiths.
We have thousands of pictures of ghosts. And I’m not talking about filmy ectoplasmic type material, I’m talking about spirits that are as clear as you and I. You ask us for evidence, we’ll give you that evidence.
We proved in a court of law in 1989 that a woman and her young child driven out of her house by ghosts. She lived in Hebron, Connecticut. We went into Rockville court and we won the case. The Realtor that leased her the house was suing her for $2,000. She begged us to go into the house and to get some evidence that would prove that there really were ghosts.
Now, you don’t walk into a court of law and saw, “Well judge, there was ghosts there.” You have to have evidence. In any court of law they use photographs, recordings and credible witnesses as evidence – that’s what we use. We won the case, we set a precedent here in the United States.
Scientists would say, “you didn’t prove a thing, because you didn’t take that ghost and put it in a bottle so we can open him up and examine him.” That’s stupid. They’re saying that scientifically that you have to prove that God exists, that ghosts exist, there is no such thing you can’t get scientific in a supernatural world.
So, if we can prove in a court of law that ghosts exist and haunted houses exist I think that’s good enough for anyone.”

“Every major religion has its own ritual of exorcism, not as a vestige from the past but as an every day necessity. It’s a popular misconception that exorcism is an obsolete medieval ritual that is no longer performed. Exorcism is still needed and performed in this century as it has been in every century before it. Though the exact number is probably the best kept secret in the world, I can tell you that well over 600 major exorcisms have had to be performed between 1970 and 1980 in North America alone.”
“Although reports and recommendations submitted by medical examiners and the officiating demonologist may often be enough to convince church authorities of the need for exorcism, usually additional evidence must be brought forward to ratify that need overwhelmingly – especially where the Rituale Romanum is concerned. For example, tape recordings, photographs, test instrument readings, materialized substances or objects have to be submitted as hard evidence that distinctly ‘preternatural” phenomena have occurred. Also credible witnesses will be required to testify to changes in the possessed’s character and demeanor, and when applicable, confirm that unnatural activity has gone on in their presence. The criteria for judging possession, particularly for Catholic exorcisms, are strict. Because in addition to all the above, no judgment of exorcism will be given unless there is at least one yes answer to the following four critical questions:
Once these questions have been answered and all the other information is gathered together, it is then submitted to church authorities. If, after studious contemplation of all the data, a judgment is returned that major exorcism is called for, then an exorcist will be assigned to the case.”
So, with at least 600 major exorcisms between 1970 and 1980 just in North America, there had to have been a huge amount of evidence of the supernatual documented in that region and period alone. Just because the evidence has not been viewed by Bill Maher, his legion of atheists, or you and I, for that matter, does not change the fact that it exists. Otherwise, those major exorcisms would never have been performed.
And, my favorite Ed Warren quote, “I’ve never met an atheist in a haunted house.” .

He Came Out of That Tomb
November 28th, 2008Bill Maher assumes a lack of intelligence if you believe in an invisible, supernatural world.
Much like Dr. Gene Scott’s professors when he attended Stanford University.
Dr. Scott turned the tables and proved that Jesus could not be good and wise if he was not also divine.
Jesus made claims no mortal man could make unless he was who he said he was.
Dr. Scott forced his professors to rethink their positions on Jesus as simply a good and wise teacher.
The Most Important Sermon You Will Never Hear (Really!)
November 22nd, 2008Bill Maher has made it clear that anybody who believes in the supernatural is necessarily a mental midget. Somehow, he seems to be saying, it’s OK to believe in God as long as it’s not an “invisible” one that does “magic things” and lives in the sky. He’s not alone in his thinking but he couldn’t be farther from the truth.
As proof that Christianity is not a religion for fools I submit this Sunday sermon given 121/2 years ago by Dr Gene Scott (1929-2005) to his congregation in Los Angeles, California. The subject: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ. As you will see, Dr. Scott was no dummy. He was a scholar and a pastor to pastors. One of his favorite lines was “You don’t have to cut off the top of your head to be a Christian”. Listen to this sermon. as it will be unlike any you’ve likely ever heard. It will soon be clear who the dummy really is.
Dr. Scott ends this sermon with one of his famous “dangles”. If the listener wanted to hear more, he had to return the following session. Fear not, as there are hundreds more hours of teaching and sermons recently made available by one of his devoted students. Spend a few hundred hours as I and many others have done, studying with this remarkable man. Even if you do not become a Christian, you will know that you do not have to be a moron to believe in the Bible!
Had Bill Maher interviewed somebody of the caliber of Dr. Gene Scott for his recent blasphementary he, likely, would have halted production at the very least.
Sorry but the links referred to above are gone.
Andrew Sullivan accuses Bill Maher of bigotry during Bill’s big movie release plug
September 21st, 2008Last Friday on his HBO show Bill Maher had set up a plug for the release of his new movie by displaying a USA Today headline about the crisis in Wall Street, and, at the bottom of the page an article titled “Most say they’re touched by guardian angels”.
BM: “so. if you’re asking me why Americans can’t solve problems I would say that this is a good reason. (Big smile) I’m not just saying this because of a terrific movie named “xxx” that’s coming out on “xxx”"…
Then, Andrew Sullivan, one of the panelists, stomped all over the promo by interrupting with, “Why do you have to throw in insults to religious people every week?”
Bill: (Bushlike) “Because there is a direct…. I’m not insulting…. (Pointing finger) See, this is why I made this movie.”
Later Mr. Sullivan accused BM of being insulting and capped the conversation with, “I think it is bigoted. Bill, to dismiss all religious people by the standards of some of the most literalist dumb ones, I think is bigotry.“ After the show, Bill Maher was so peeved that he never joined the panel during the on camera credit roll segment, completely ignoring them as they talked, which, I think, is a first.
Or, perhaps, he soiled himself and could not stand up.
Scottisms
August 28th, 2008The Bible suggests that man used to be very smart and got dumb. Science suggests that man used to be a cave man, very stupid, and got smart. Man was once very very smart and somewhere lost it. And now, struggling back.

The Bible teaches Superior civilizations of the past. And man has gone downhill primarily through cataclysms. The flood of Noah was cataclysmic.

Creationism does not rule out evolutionism. Evolutionism may rule out creationism.

All the races of mankind come from 8 souls.

Do you know what truth is? Do you know what the root meaning of the word for truth is in Hebrew? Things to be remembered. With the emphasis on the things to be perpetuated because they should never be forgotten. That’s a meaning of truth you’ve never heard before.
Admiral Piri Reis Map
August 26th, 2008Here’s an interesting mystery that points to a civilization that had the opportunity to accurately map the coastline of Antarctica despite the fact that it has been covered by ice a mile in thickness for the past 6000 years. In 1513 Piri Reis, a Turkish admiral, drew a map which was a compilation of many older maps he had at his disposal. The map he drew was of the Southern Atlantic region between Africa and South America. The map included the Northern coastline of Antarctica which had not been known to have been discovered at the time. But the real mystery was that the map appeared to have charted the coastline at a time when it was not covered in ice. How is this possible?
In the mid twentieth century the map was studied by Professor Hapgood of Keene College. On 6th July 1960 the U. S. Air Force sent the following communication to Professor Hapgood:
“6, July, 1960
Dear Professor Hapgood,

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
March 26th, 2008Christianity begins with a miracle. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the starting point. How are we to believe such a thing is possible?
Some people, the lucky ones, need no proof. They know it when they hear it, they recognize the truth in their hearts, the matter is settled.
Others are more skeptical. They need evidence before they’ll commit. Evidence that most of us have never heard.
Then, there are the Bill Mahers of the world. No amount of evidence would ever be enough for them. They have their fingers in their ears and they’re singing “la la la la, I can’t hear you, la la la la…”
The best argument in favor of the Resurrection was researched by a Ph.D. candidate, the son of a pastor, who was pressured by his faculty to abandon his belief in a supernatural God. He briefly questioned his faith as he had never done before. Then he set off to research as much information surrounding the known history of Jesus Christ in order to settle it (in his own mind) once and for all. Ultimately, he did, and became the greatest religious teacher and pastor we will ever see in our lifetimes. Unfortunately he died in 2005.
Read the words of Dr. Gene Scott and maybe some of you skeptics might, some day, become believers!
Here’s Judah
March 10th, 2008I find it confusing that the name of the official Jewish state happens to be Israel, the name that was part of the birthright handed down to the sons of Joseph. After the death of Solomon the kingdom was split in two. The Northern tribes were known as Israel and the Southern tribes were known as Judah. This is no secret. Those Jews familiar with the Torah know this only too well. The name of the country, Israel, ought to be Judah.
Many Jews have either forgotten that they have distant relatives who were the rightful heirs to the name or they wrongly assume that their relatives have all perished and nobody will be the wiser. Many Jews alive today have never heard that their long lost brethren are alive and well in countries including (but not limited to) Europe, Britain, and the USA. Busted!
What if Bill Maher, in an effort to broaden his appeal, took on the nickname, Johnny? We all know he’s no Johnny. What would be the point?
Found Tribes of Israel
March 10th, 2008It’s quite amazing that in 2008 so many people have never even heard the claims that the supposed ‘lost’ tribes of Israel have actually been found. Almost as if waking from a long sleep the people of 19th century Britain became aware that they had inherited the blessings handed down from God to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob passed the bulk of the blessings to the two sons of his beloved youngest son, Joseph, of his beloved wife, Rachel. While the ‘movement’ was suppressed the preponderance of the evidence unearthed since that time has made it evident that large migratory waves of the Northern Tribes moved across the European continent and founded many nations. Some made it as far as the British Isles, which was to become an empire unlike any the world has ever seen. While the United States became a great nation (a very great nation!) it was Great Britain who grew to be a group of nations.
“Now Israel’s eyes were failing because of old age, and he could hardly see. So Joseph brought his sons close to him, and his father kissed them and embraced them. Israel said to Joseph, “I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too.” Then Joseph removed them from Israel’s knees and bowed down with his face to the ground. And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israel’s left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them close to him. But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim’s head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manasseh’s head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.
Then he blessed Joseph and said, “May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has delivered me from all harm May he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly upon the earth.” When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraim’s head he was displeased; so he took hold of his father’s hand to move it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. Joseph said to him, “No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.” But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations.” He blessed them that day and said, “In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing: ‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.’ “So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.”
